Our Story

At Doggie Styles, our passion for pets and dedication to exceptional grooming services runs deep. Since our humble beginnings as a family-owned and operated mobile grooming service in 2002, our commitment has always been to provide a safe, clean, and friendly environment where every furry friend feels pampered and cared for. Our story is one of growth, fueled by our unwavering belief in quality grooming and outstanding customer service. Word of mouth quickly spread about our reliability, compassion, and dedication to going the extra mile for both pets and their owners.

The demand for our services exceeded our mobile capabilities, leading us to open our first salon on Center Street in 2006. We quickly realized we needed a larger space to accommodate our growing clientele and dedicated team. In 2009, we found our permanent home in the White Hills Shopping Center, a location we continue to serve from today.

We're immensely proud of the relationships we've built with our community over the years. Doggie Styles has been dedicated to supporting local organizations, including our law enforcement officers, veterans, schools, churches, Celebrate Shelton, Sarah Animal Rescue, The Shelton Animal Shelter, and the Boys and Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley. Giving back to our community is integral to who we are.

Our Team

Our team of experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly groomers is the heart and soul of Doggie Styles. Each member is passionate about delivering the highest quality grooming experiences while prioritizing the safety and well-being of every animal that steps into our salon. We believe in continuous learning and development, and our groomers regularly attend training sessions and competitions to stay at the forefront of their craft.

Meet Sadie, our Manager and Senior Groomer. Sadie has been with Doggie Styles since the very beginning, starting as a part-time worker in our mobile grooming van. Her love of animals, honed through years of caring for neighborhood pets and her early exposure to grooming through high school and apprenticeship experiences, has made her an expert in her field. Sadie's dedication to exceptional grooming and compassionate handling makes her a beloved figure among both our furry clientele and their owners.

Sarah, a full-time Groomer, joined the Doggie Styles family in 2014. Starting as a bather, Sarah's natural talent and patience quickly recognized her potential as a groomer. Her professional background as an Army Reserves Veteran and a manager at a local pet supply store further enhances her skills and understanding of pet care.

Melissa, a gentle and compassionate Groomer, began her journey with Doggie Styles as a bather in 2022. Inspired by her beloved Shih-Tzu, JJ, she developed a deep passion for grooming and dedicated herself to learning the craft. Melissa's commitment, practice, and investment in specialized tools and equipment have transformed her into a skilled and confident groomer.

Kayla, a talented and enthusiastic Groomer, joined the team in 2019. Her natural ability to connect with and understand dogs quickly made her a valuable asset. Kayla's dedication to learning and her apprenticeship under Sadie have honed her skills, making her a sought-after groomer.
