As a family-owned and operated business, we have been serving the Jacksonville, FL, community for over 16 years. Our founder, Sue Towler, is a passionate animal lover with a background in the US Air Force. After retiring from her 24-year military career, Sue decided to turn her love of animals into a career by establishing The Barking Lot in 2005.

We strive to create a warm, welcoming, and safe environment where your pet can receive individualized attention and affection. Our experienced staff is committed to providing a personalized experience for each pet, ensuring they receive the care and love they deserve.
Our Services
We offer a range of services designed to cater to your pet's unique needs. Our on-site services include doggy daycare, overnight boarding, and special needs care. Our in-home pet sitting service is available for the Avondale, Riverside, San Marco, and Murray Hill areas.
On-Site Services
Our North Riverside location offers doggy daycare services, providing a fun and stimulating environment for your pup. Our doggy daycare services are available 7 days a week, with rates starting at $18 per day. We also offer overnight boarding services for a reasonable flat rate of $35 per night.
In-Home Pet Sitting
For an even more personalized experience for your pup, our in-home pet sitting service is available. Our experienced staff will take care of your pet in the comfort of their own home. We offer this service in the Avondale, Riverside, San Marco, and Murray Hill areas.
Special Needs Care
We understand that some pets may require special care, which is why we have a dedicated team to cater to their needs. We can dispense medicine, administer shots, and provide extra attention and care if needed.
Safety First
At The Barking Lot, the safety and well-being of our furry friends and staff is our top priority. We have implemented various safety measures, including a 15 kW generator to ensure power backups, a licensed, bonded, and insured facility, and a owner who lives on-site at our North Riverside location.
Meet Sue
Sue Towler, the founder of The Barking Lot, is a passionate animal lover with a background in the US Air Force. After serving in the military, Sue decided to pursue her passion for animals, establishing Critter Sitters in 1994. In 2005, she expanded her services to boarding and doggy daycare by creating The Barking Lot.
