Pawprints Veterinary Housecall is dedicated to providing compassionate and dignified end-of-life care for beloved pets in the comfort of their own homes. We understand that saying goodbye to a cherished companion is an incredibly sensitive and emotional experience. Our mission is to make this difficult time as peaceful and stress-free as possible for both animals and their families. We believe that a pet's final moments should be spent surrounded by love and familiar surroundings, free from the anxiety and discomfort that often accompany unfamiliar veterinary settings.
Our Services
Pawprints Veterinary Housecall specializes in in-home euthanasia, a humane and gentle process that allows you to say goodbye to your pet in a safe, familiar, and comforting environment. Our services are tailored to meet the individual needs of each pet and family, ensuring a dignified and compassionate farewell. We offer several aftercare options to help you honor your pet's memory:
- Individual Cremation: This option provides you with the individual cremated remains of your pet in a beautiful wood urn.
- Communal Cremation: In this option, your pet's remains are cremated with other pets.
- Aquamation with Kindred Spirits: This eco-friendly process utilizes gentle water, temperature, and alkalinity to break down organic materials, leaving behind finer, lighter-colored remains.
Our Veterinarian
Dr. Aimee Ratzlaff is a Tucson native with a deep passion for compassionate end-of-life care. Dr. Ratzlaff's journey to becoming a veterinarian began at a young age, surrounded by a variety of animals, from cats and dogs to tree frogs and even scorpions. Dr. Ratzlaff received her veterinary degree from Washington State University and honed her skills through a rotating internship at a small animal facility in Mesa. After years of practicing general medicine, she discovered a calling for providing comfort and support during a pet's most vulnerable moments. Dr. Ratzlaff dedicated her practice to in-home euthanasia, understanding the profound impact it has on families grieving the loss of their beloved companions.
When she is not providing compassionate care to pets and their families, Dr. Ratzlaff cherishes spending time with her husband and children, and their three cats.
