The Story of Bay Walkies

Bay Walkies is dedicated to providing exceptional dog walking experiences in the breathtaking landscapes of the Bay Area. Founded by Rob Schultzberg, a lifelong animal enthusiast, the company is driven by a passion for enriching the lives of dogs through joyful exercise, socialization, and adventure. Rob's love for animals began in his childhood, growing up with a diverse menagerie including an Airedale terrier, a Dalmatian, a Golden Retriever, and several cherished cats. This early exposure fostered a deep understanding of canine behavior and an unwavering commitment to their well-being.

Complementing his innate affinity for dogs, Rob embarked on a journey to formalize his knowledge and skills. He graduated from the Dog Walking Academy in San Francisco in 2014, equipping himself with the expertise to provide safe and enriching walks. Following his training, Rob dedicated two years to volunteering at Hopalong Animal Rescue, where he served as a pet chauffeur, transporting animals to vet appointments and adoption events. This invaluable experience broadened his understanding of diverse canine personalities and reinforced his dedication to their happiness.

Prior to founding Bay Walkies, Rob gained further experience working as an independent contractor for reputable dog walking companies in the East Bay. This comprehensive background allowed him to develop a refined approach to dog walking, incorporating best practices and prioritizing the individual needs of each dog in his care.

Our Services

At Bay Walkies, we offer both invigorating group and personalized private walks, meticulously tailored to meet the unique requirements of every canine companion.

Our group walks are designed for dogs who thrive in social settings and enjoy the company of fellow four-legged friends. With a maximum of six dogs per walk, our certified walkers ensure ample attention and supervision, creating a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants. These hour-long adventures take us through the magnificent trails of the East Bay, encompassing stunning locations such as Sibley Regional Preserve, Redwood Regional Park, Tilden Regional Park, Leona Canyon, and Leona Heights Park.

For dogs who prefer individual attention or require specialized care, our private walks offer a personalized experience. We strive to understand each dog's unique temperament, energy level, and walking preferences, crafting a bespoke walk that caters to their specific needs.

Whether you seek the camaraderie of group walks or the individual attention of private walks, our unwavering commitment remains the same: to provide your dog with a happy, healthy, and fulfilling experience.

We welcome all dogs who have received basic training and possess a friendly demeanor compatible with fellow canines. For the safety and well-being of all, dogs participating in group walks must be comfortable around other dogs and exhibit no history of aggression towards humans or animals.

To ensure optimal enjoyment, we recommend that dogs participating in off-leash group walks be in relatively good health.
