Our Story

At The Boarding House, our journey began in 1955 when Drs. George Alfson and Paul Kahl purchased the property and moved their existing veterinary practice to this site. The property included four separate buildings in a peach and apple orchard setting. Over the years, we have steadily evolved into a multiple-service animal care complex that includes boarding, grooming, doggie daycare, and a store carrying animal products and food. Our commitment to excellence in pet care has remained unwavering, and we are proud to be one of the largest animal care complexes in the Northeast.

Our Services

At The Boarding House, we understand that your pets are more than just animals - they are members of your family. That's why we provide a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for your furry friends. Our dog boarding facilities are designed to meet the socialization, exercise, and developmental needs of all dogs. We offer a range of services to cater to your pet's unique needs, including:

Dog Boarding

We provide a comfortable and stimulating environment for your dog, with spacious runs and plenty of playtime. Our dog boarding services include:

• A safe and comfortable place to rest
• Three walks daily in our large fenced-in courtyard
• A nutritious diet of IAMS mini-chunks, a chicken-based food
• The option to bring your pet's own food if they are on a special diet
• Climate-controlled rooms with central air conditioning and heating

Doggie Daycare

We also offer doggie daycare services while your dog is boarding with us. For just $16.00 extra per day, your dog can enjoy socialization and exercise with other dogs in our supervised daycare area.

Grooming and Bathing

Our professional grooming services include a bath, blow dry, haircut, ear cleaning, and a pedicure. We use only the safest hypo-allergenic shampoos and offer a range of additional services, including:

• Pedicure only: $20.00
• Pedicure and nail grinding: $30.00
• Flea and tick soak: $10.00
• Skunk bath: $15.00
• Oatmeal shampoo: $10.00
• Conditioner: $10.00
• Medicated bath: $10.00
• Hot oil: $15.00
