Hyde Bark is a local, family-owned pet care business that has been proudly serving the Hyde Park, Bronzeville, and Woodlawn communities in Chicago since 2015. Our service area extends from Pershing Road to 65th and Indiana Ave. to South Shore Drive. As a professional and reputable business, we are licensed, fully insured and bonded, and all of our pet care providers are certified in Pet First Aid and CPR. Most of our team members are also certified in Animal Psychology and/or Pet Behavior & Training, ensuring that your pets receive the best possible care.
Our Story
Hyde Bark was founded in 2015 by LeAnna, who had previously worked as a dog walker for other companies and on her own for over a decade. After taking a break to be a stay-at-home mom, LeAnna decided to return to dog walking, as it was something she had always loved doing. In 2016, her husband, Brandon, joined the business, and together they have been successfully running Hyde Bark ever since. In 2022, they expanded their services by opening Hyde Park's first doggy daycare - Hyde Bark Play Park.
Our Team
Our team at Hyde Bark is made up of dedicated and experienced pet care professionals who are carefully vetted, selected, and extensively trained. We do not use independent contractors; all of our pet care providers are actual employees of Hyde Bark. Each employee undergoes an extensive hiring and training process, which includes a background check, multiple online training courses, and on-the-job training. We are proud to offer our employees benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, mileage reimbursement, and a living wage, which helps us attract top applicants with career-focused minds. Many of our employees have been with us for years, and most are full-time, making this their primary profession.
