Making a difference, one cat at a time.
AdvoCATS, Inc. is a non-profit organization that was established in 1999 with the aim of promoting the well-being of Hawaii's homeless cat population. As an ALL-VOLUNTEER 501(c)(3) organization, we are dedicated to reducing the number of unwanted cats and preventing the spread of feline diseases through the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program. We are a group of ordinary people like you who want to make a difference in the lives of cats on the Big Island.
Our Mission
Our mission is to protect the rights of feral felines and address the issue of feline overpopulation and disease. We work towards achieving this goal by identifying feral cat colonies and providing them with daily care and feeding. Our volunteers support the TNR program by trapping, neutering, and returning feral cats to their colonies, where they are monitored during their recovery. We believe that TNR is the most humane way to manage feral cat populations.
How You Can Help
As an all-volunteer organization, we rely on the generosity of individuals like you to help us carry out our mission. You can assist us in several ways, such as volunteering your time, donating food or supplies, or adopting a cat. If you have a cat for adoption or are interested in adopting a cat, we can help find good homes for them. Additionally, we have drop-off locations for food and litter donations in the Kailua-Kona area.
The Importance of TNR
Each day, hundreds of feral (wild) kittens are born on the Hawaiian Islands, many of which do not survive due to the harsh environment and lack of fresh water sources. Through TNR, we can reduce the number of unwanted cats and prevent the spread of feline diseases, ultimately improving the lives of feral cats and reducing their suffering.
Clinics and Services
We offer spay/neuter clinics to help reduce the number of unwanted cats and prevent feline diseases. Our clinics are run by experienced volunteers who provide high-quality care to all cats that come through our program. If you are interested in reserving traps or making reservations for our clinics, please contact Cindy directly at (808) 895-9283 or email her at cindyt@hawaii.rr.com.
Foster Program
Our foster program provides a temporary loving and nurturing environment for cats until they get adopted. As a foster parent, you will be providing a lifeline for a desperately in-need animal. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, please send us a message.
Donations
Your donations are used to support our mission through community outreach and spay/neuter programs. As a non-profit organization, we rely on the generosity of individuals like you to help us achieve our goals. Your donations will help us provide food, neuter, and care for feral cats in our community.
In conclusion, AdvoCATS, Inc. is an ALL-VOLUNTEER non-profit organization dedicated to the well-being of Hawaii's homeless cat population. We believe that TNR is the most humane way to manage feral cat populations, and we rely on the generosity of individuals like you to help us achieve our mission. Whether you choose to volunteer your time, donate food or supplies, or adopt a cat, every contribution makes a difference in the lives of feral cats on the Big Island.
