Companion Animal Rescue Effort

C.A.R.E. (Companion Animal Rescue Effort) is a non-profit, all-volunteer animal rescue organization based in Santa Clara County. Our mission is to find good, permanent homes for dogs that were abandoned, relinquished, or never reclaimed. We provide temporary shelter, food, love, and medical care to these foster dogs and puppies until they are placed in their forever homes.

Our Services

At C.A.R.E., we understand that responsible pet ownership is crucial to reducing pet overpopulation and euthanasia. To achieve this, we educate the public on pet ownership and responsibility. We believe that with knowledge about responsible pet guardianship, we can curb and eventually end the suffering of neglected animals and the tragedy of pet overpopulation.

Adoption Process

When our dogs are ready for adoption, we thoroughly screen potential adopters to ensure that each pet is perfectly matched into their new home. We believe in quality over quantity, and our extensive screening process ensures that our adopters receive a pet that is tailored to their lifestyle and ability to provide a loving home.

Fostering

We are in need of people willing to open their hearts and homes to dogs and puppies in need. As a C.A.R.E. foster home, you will provide a loving and safe environment for the foster dogs and puppies, following our guidelines and receiving support from our experienced foster parents. We provide the necessary supplies, medical care, and support to make the fostering experience rewarding and fulfilling.
