Lost Pet Services, Inc. is a community-driven organization dedicated to keeping pets and the people who love them together through proactive services, financial assistance, and resource sharing. Founded in 2013 by Patty Giarrusso after personally navigating the heartbreak of losing her beloved dogs, the organization has evolved into a vital resource for pet owners facing challenges in the Manatee-Sarasota and Charlotte county area.

Our Mission: Keeping Pets and People Together

Our mission is simple: to prevent pet surrender and keep pets safe, healthy, and happy in their forever homes. We achieve this through:

1. Lost & Found Pet Support

• Providing a platform for reporting lost and found pets through our highly active Facebook group, Lost and Found Pets 941.
• Helping reunite lost pets with their owners through diligent search and notification efforts.

2. The PAWs Project

• Offering financial assistance to pet owners facing overwhelming veterinary expenses, ensuring that cost never has to be the reason to surrender a beloved companion.
• Since 2018, we've provided over $240,000 in critical care for pets in need.

3. Comprehensive Resources

• Connecting pet owners with low-cost veterinary services, shelters, and rescue organizations.
• Providing educational resources on pet safety, behavior, and care.

4. Community Outreach

• Organizing volunteer opportunities, fundraising events, and awareness campaigns to build a strong and supportive community.

Our Beginnings and Growth

Lost Pet Services started as a Facebook group in 2013, quickly becoming the largest and most active lost and found pet group in the area. Recognizing the need for broader support, we evolved into a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, entirely run by passionate volunteers.
