Meet Maria T. Schlemm

I'm Maria T. Schlemm, the founder of Walking With Schlemm. I'm a long-time resident of Rutherford, NJ, where I've lived for the past 21 years. I recently celebrated my 50th birthday and am proud to say that I've spent my entire life surrounded by and enjoying the company of dogs. As a child, my parents didn't allow pets in our home, so I turned to neighbors and family friends' dogs for my fur fix. I have many fond memories of spending hours with these amazing dogs, walking, petting, and playing with them.

Over the years, I've had the pleasure of sharing my life with a variety of wonderful dogs. Recently, I found myself at a transitional stage, having worked in the medical field of ophthalmology for 27 years. I realized it was time for a change, and with my lifelong love for dogs, starting a dog walking service was a natural fit. I now spend my mornings, afternoons, and evenings walking and caring for dogs, and I couldn't be happier.

• Feeding and Watering: We understand that you have a busy schedule. Let us take care of feeding and watering your pet, giving you one less thing to worry about.
• Administering Medications: If your pet requires medication, our team is trained to administer it according to your instructions, ensuring they receive the care they need.
• Brushing: Regular brushing not only keeps your pet's coat looking great but also helps distribute natural oils, promoting healthy skin and a shiny coat.
• Pet Sitting (7 days a week): Whether you're away for business or pleasure, our pet sitting services ensure your dog receives the care and attention they deserve, 7 days a week.
• Behavior Modification: Our team is experienced in addressing common behavioral issues, working with you to create a personalized plan to help your pet reach their potential.
