Blue Max Dog

Blue Max Dog was founded in 2000 by Carol Ahearn, a certified dog trainer and behavior specialist. With over 30 years of experience in dog training and behavior modification, Carol has helped numerous pet owners improve their relationship with their dogs. Our approach is centered around gentle techniques and positive reinforcement methods, making the training process enjoyable for both dogs and their owners.

Our Story

Our journey began when Carol started showing her Fox Terrier, Otto, in conformation events. She later became involved in herding dog breeding and started Agility training. Today, Carol has three dogs of her own: Bella, a mini Dachshund with an impressive trick repertoire; Aja, a Belgian Tervuren with agility, rally, obedience, and tracking skills; and Lupa, a Belgian Tervuren with a passion for agility training.

Our Approach

As an APDT-certified trainer and ITC graduate, Carol has extensive experience in various training environments, from private lessons to large classroom settings and workshops. Her certifications include AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, Fear-Free Certified Trainer, and Animal Behavior College Authorized Mentor Trainer. Carol continuously updates her knowledge by attending dog behavior-related seminars and courses.

In-Home Lessons and Behavior Consulations

At Blue Max Dog, we offer personalized in-home obedience lessons and behavior consultations. These sessions cater to dogs that may feel overwhelmed in group classes or have unique behavioral needs. Our expert trainers will teach your dog basic commands and address specific behavioral issues such as aggression, fear-based behaviors, separation anxiety, housebreaking, and compulsive behaviors.

Group Classes

We also offer a variety of group classes, including:

• Puppy Kindergarten (ages 0-4 months)
• Good Manners (ages 6+ months)
• Advanced Obedience and CGC preparation (ages 6+ months)
• Off-leash Obedience
• Treats for Tricks (fun games and tricks)
• Nosework
• Agility
• Rally
