Our Story

At Dog Lovers Obedience School, we are passionate about helping families and their dogs live a harmonious and fulfilling life together. Our journey began over 16 years ago when our head trainer, Emily Bracken, started a puppy raiser for a service dog organization. As she worked with dogs, Emily discovered her talent for working with canines and a desire to help others overcome their canine-related struggles. In 2012, Emily purchased Dog Lovers Obedience School from its original owner, Pat Lacy. Since then, Emily has continued to dedicate herself to her profession, attending workshops and seminars to remain updated on the latest dog training techniques.

Group Classes

Our group classes cater to dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages. In these sessions, we focus on teaching fundamental obedience skills, such as loose leash walking, sit stays, down stays, come on command, and more. Our group classes provide an excellent opportunity for dogs that struggle with listening in the presence of other dogs or people to practice in a supportive environment.

Private Training

For dogs that require more individualized attention or have behavioral issues that cannot be addressed in a group setting, our private training sessions are the perfect solution. We also offer private training lessons for new dog owners who want to ensure they are doing things correctly at home to set their dog up for success.

Specialty Training

Our specialty training programs are designed for dogs with specific needs, such as rescue dogs, behavior modification, and puppy training. We also offer private and group intensives for puppies, family dog training, and comprehensive training.

• Emily Bracken, Head Trainer and Owner, has over 16 years of experience in dog training and specializes in behavior modifications, puppy training, and therapy dog preparation.
• Lore Quillin, Apprentice Dog Trainer, has a passion for early socialization, task training, and obedience foundations.
• Jess Cagnina, Apprentice Dog Trainer, has a love for watching dogs and owners grow together as a team and enjoys taking her two pups, Tito and Yogi, on hikes.
• Mary, Dog Trainer, started her career as an apprentice trainer after going through Dog Lovers classes with her Golden Retriever, Frankie.
