At Paws-N-Heel Dog Training Center, we believe that learning should be fun for both you and your dog. Whether you have a new puppy or an older dog, we have a class that suits your needs.
Our experienced instructor, Michelle Larson, has over 30 years of experience in training and handling dogs. She is dedicated to helping you develop a strong bond with your dog and teaching you how to manage your dog's behavior effectively. Michelle is also an avid enthusiast of competitive obedience, tracking, drafting, nose work, rally, and agility, ensuring that she stays up-to-date with the latest training methods and techniques.
Our Classes
At Paws-N-Heel Dog Training Center, we offer a range of classes to suit different ages, breeds, and levels of experience. Here are some of the classes we offer:
Puppy Kindergarten - 6 Weeks
This six-week class is designed for new puppies to provide a positive foundation for the rest of their lives. The class focuses on socialization, handling, and preventing or managing common puppy behaviors like play biting, jumping, and chewing. The whole family is welcome to attend, ensuring that everyone is on the same page when it comes to training and communicating with your puppy.
Basic Manners - 7 Weeks
This class is suitable for dogs five months and older. It consists of seven one-hour sessions aimed at teaching your dog basic manners such as sitting, standing, lying down, staying, and recalls. The class also covers how to exhibit self-control around other people and dogs and how to focus on you even in distracting situations.
Scent Work Classes
Scent work is a fun and engaging activity that challenges your dog's sense of smell and encourages them to use their natural abilities. Our scent work classes cater to dogs of all ages and breeds and are designed to improve your dog's focus, confidence, and teamwork with you.
Rally-O Classes
Rally-O is a fun and interactive dog sport that combines elements of agility and obedience. It involves guiding your dog through a course of signs with different exercises, promoting teamwork and communication between you and your dog. Our Rally-O classes are suitable for dogs of all ages and breeds and are a great way to challenge your dog physically and mentally.
Agility Classes
Our agility classes are designed to promote physical activity, coordination, and teamwork between you and your dog. They involve navigating through various obstacles such as tunnels, jumps, and weave poles, helping to improve your dog's agility, balance, and focus. Agility classes are suitable for dogs of all ages and breeds and are a great way to provide mental and physical stimulation.
Intermediate/Advanced Classes
For dogs that have already mastered basic obedience, our intermediate and advanced classes offer more challenging exercises and activities. These classes are designed to further improve your dog's obedience, focus, and teamwork with you, preparing them for more complex tasks and activities.
Canine Good Citizen Classes
The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program is designed to recognize dogs that exhibit good manners at home and in the community. Our CGC classes prepare you and your dog for the CGC test, which assesses your dog's obedience, behavior, and interaction with people and other dogs.
