Feline Dentistry

Did you know that your cat has 30 permanent teeth? Feline oral hygiene is important for a cat's long-term health. Many cats require human help to keep their mouths healthy and free from disease. Food particles and bacteria collect along the gum line, forming plaque. If the plaque is not removed, minerals in the saliva combine with the plaque to form tartar, which adheres strongly to teeth and invades the gums. Tartar causes inflammation and redness in the gums, known as gingivitis, and is responsible for bad breath. If the tartar is not removed, it will build up under the gums, encouraging bacteria growth and causing Periodontal Disease. Periodontal Disease is irreversible and can be very painful to your cat, causing loose teeth, abscesses, bone loss, and over time can lead to organ damage and a shortened life. Cat Only Boarding

Our boarding facility was designed specifically with your kitty's comfort and enjoyment in mind. Larkspur Cat Clinic offers more than your standard steel cage. Larkspur Cat Clinic houses your cat in a side-by-side unit, one side for living quarters, and the other for a litter box and food. These multi-level custom Kitty Condos allow your cat to stretch and move about, minimizing anxiety and stress. Grooming services are available Monday through Thursday.

Grooming

A clean kitty is less prone to illness. Regular grooming leaves the skin and coat soft and healthy. Our grooming services include clipping and combing. If necessary, sedation with veterinary examination and supervision is offered.

For your convenience, we also offer your feline friends pampered boarding and grooming in an environment that is dog-free!
