Our Story

For nearly three decades, Bittersweet Pet Resorts has been dedicated to providing a loving, safe, and enriching environment for pets in the Michigan area. Our journey began in 1996, when our founder, Sandra Stern-Krebs, a licensed Veterinary Technician, certified Pet Groomer, and Animal Science degree holder, had a vision to create a place where pets could feel at home while their owners were away. Our unique name, Bittersweet Pet Resorts, originated from our Niles property, Bittersweet Farms, which served as the foundation for our mission.

Over the years, we have grown into a multi-facility, family-owned and operated business, offering premier pet lodging, doggy daycare, basic obedience training, and professional pet grooming. Our two locations in Niles, Michigan, and near Kalamazoo, Michigan, are designed to provide the best pet care services in our local areas.
