Transforming Lives, One Paw at a Time!
At Bloomington Obedience Training Club (BOTC), we are dedicated to helping dog owners and handlers achieve their goals in dog training. With a rich history dating back to 1956, our club has evolved from a small group of dog enthusiasts sharing knowledge to a thriving organization offering a wide range of training classes and activities. Our mission is to promote positive motivational training methods, foster a strong bond between dogs and their handlers, and provide a supportive community for dog owners and handlers to come together and share their passion for dog training.

Our History and Mission
BOTC was formed in 1956 by a group of dog enthusiasts who wanted to share their knowledge by offering dog-training lessons to the public. Starting with Obedience classes, the club has grown to provide Agility, Conformation, Therapy Dog, Trick Dog, CGC, and Flyball classes. With the approval of the American Kennel Club (AKC) in the mid-1960s, BOTC began its long-standing tradition of hosting an annual AKC Obedience & Rally show. In recent years, we have added an additional AKC Obedience & Rally show held annually in the spring. We also host a spring and fall Agility trial.
Our Goals
BOTC strives to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for dog owners and handlers to learn, grow, and have fun. We aim to promote positive motivational training methods, foster a strong bond between dogs and their handlers, and provide a platform for dog owners and handlers to come together and share their passion for dog training.
