Action K9 Sports is a renowned facility dedicated to herding dog training, established in 1985 by Terry Parrish. Located in Escondido, California, our 6-acre property offers a unique environment for herding dogs of all breeds to thrive. Terry's vision was to create a space where any herding dog, regardless of breed, could enjoy the herding life. Over the years, our facility has evolved to accommodate dogs from 6 months to 10 years old, with personalized training tailored to each dog's breed and abilities.
Our Services
We offer herding lessons for both beginners and experienced handlers. Our trainers are skilled in understanding the differences between breeds, ensuring each dog's unique needs are met. From the Herding Instinct Test for new participants to fine-tuning training for experienced handlers, our programs cater to dogs of all ages and breeds. We also host various herding trials and events throughout the year, including Scottish Highland trials and events for specific breed clubs.

History of Our Ranch
Action K9 Sports began as the San Pasqual Herding Facility in 1985. Terry worked part-time as a cow hand and chief herding instructor before moving the operation to its current location in 1987. This move allowed for the development of larger pastures, arenas, and an increased focus on hosting herding trials. Over the years, we've hosted numerous national and specialty events for various breed clubs, promoting the excellence of herding for all breeds.
Our Facility
Located just 10 minutes off the 15 Freeway, our facility sits across the road from the San Diego Safari Park in Escondido, California. With 150 head of sheep and multiple size arenas, including open fields, we provide a comprehensive environment for herding dogs to grow and develop their skills.
